Rhodes Old Town: The medieval Old Town of Rhodes is a UNESCO World Heritage site. It was developed around the fortress – the Acropolis of the city of Rhodes. The fortress consists of two parts, Kolakkio in the north and Chorá in the south. At Kolakkio you will see the great palace of the Grand Master or Castello, the famous Knights’ Routes, the temples of the Knights, the hospital which is turned into a museum and more. In the village there is the old market, the Turkish bazaar around the mosque of Sulayman and other places of interest. Rhodes was a particularly important state under the rule of the Knights of the Order of St. John. Walking through the streets near the fortress you will feel the pulse of the Middle Ages.

 

 

 

Lindos: It is located 55 km away from the city of Rhodes. It is a well known village with many archaeological finds and great visitor interest. It has many beautiful beaches and many tourists choose this place as a base for their summer holidays. Here among others you will see one of the oldest castles in the world offering ancient ruins and panoramic views. It was robably served as a castle during the Trojan War.

 

 

 

 

Acropolis of Lindos: It is the highest point of the village. Here you will see the Doric temple of Lindos, the buildings of the Knights and the church of St. John.

 

 

Tomb of Cleobulus: Outside the Acropolis at a short distance of 3 km is the Tomb of Cleobulus. You will probably need to walk for an hour but the view will reward you.

Valley of Butterflies: West of the island, 5 km southeast of the village of Theologos (or Tholos), just 10 km from the airport and 25 km from the town of Rhodes lies the Valley of the Butterflies. This is a nature reserve, home to thousands of butterflies making it very unique experience. This dreamy place full of flora and natural beauty with bridges, small paths and waterfalls awaits you to explore!

 

Best Beaches 

The beach of Lindos: There is a large settlement with many beach bars and hotels. The area is quiet and the sea is clear with crystal clear and shallow waters making it suitable for families with small children. The most famous beach is: Agios Pavlos

Beach for: Families, Relax

Best Bar & Restaurant: Mavrikos, Broccolino, Tambakio, Lindos Yacht Club Kirtos Restaurant, Village Cafe.

 

Beach for: for windsurfing and kiteboarding.

Prasonisi Beach: Is located approximately 90 kilometers south of the old town. On the east side the sea is calmer than the other side which is very often windy.
