Skiathos: Located in Sporades complex. It is a small island with very wild nature, stunning beaches, romantic atmosphere and intense nightlife, which makes it one of the first choices for young people.

How to go to Skiathos: Ferries: There are ferries that depart from the port of Agios Konstantinos in Volos and from the port of Evia called Mantoudi. However, there are no direct ferries from Athens to Skiathos. If you would like to reach Volos you can take a bus (KTEL), for the routes please visit the relevant site: www.ktelattikis.gr.

By airplane: Skiathos has its own airport called Alexandros Papadiamantis. From Athens the duration is only 30’. The airport also receives flights from Europe during the summer season. To go to the center from the airport is a distance of 5 km for this reason  there are always many taxis at the airport’s entrance.

Best Beaches

Lalaria Beach: It is the most famous and most beautiful beach of Skiathos and one of the top in Greece. You can reach it only by boat. There is no beach bar there so don’t forget to bring water, sunscreen, a hat and even an umbrella.

Koukounaries Beach:  This beach features golden sand and crystal-clear waters and has many beach bars. It is accessible for disabled people.

The distance is about 30′ from Skiathos town.

Kehria Beach: is located north of the island and although it is a bit far and the road is difficult, it is worth the visit. It is a beautiful, wild landscape with emerald calm sea. There is a beach bar and taverna in the area.

Things to Do

Skiathos Town: The main street is Papadiamantis street with a lot of shops, restaurants, and bars.

Best Restaurants: Mesogia Tavern, the Windmill, Ricci e povera, Pasta Pazza, Giardino Segreto Skiathos, Bakaliko, Marmita, Lo & La, Gravisi, To Palouki, 1901.

Bourtzi: The little peninsula of Bourtzi separates the commercial port from the old one. The old port is pleasant for walking and very quiet. Going there on the peninsula you will see the remains of the old castle built by the Gizi brothers during the Venetian period.

Best Bars & Restaurants: BU

The Monastery of Evangelistria: is a historic monastery with beautiful frescoes and a nice view. The area has a cafe and gift shops with a lot of local things such as  olive oil,  jam, honey, liqueur, jewelry, soaps and a lot more.
