How to go to Chalkidiki
In Halkidiki you can travel by car, by bus (KTEL) and by organized excursions. The nearest airport is in Thessaloniki.

The bus from Thessaloniki has many and frequent routes to Chalkidiki for almost all places/areas. Every village in Halkidiki has a stop where you can get off and get on board. If you are not at the central bus stop you can get a ticket from the bus driver. If you are not in Thessaloniki, you can fly from Athens or any other airport and arrive at Macedonia airport in Thessaloniki. From there you have options to go to Halkidiki by car, bus or taxi.

You can get to Thessaloniki from any city in Greece by bus or train. Arriving there to go to the central station of Chalkidiki in Thessaloniki you take the local bus number 45 that serves the route: KTEL Macedonia – New Railway Station – KTEL Halkidiki (every 20 min).

You can easily get to Halkidiki by car by following the signs to Halkidiki. You can go through the Ring Road and not enter the city center of Thessaloniki. Be aware that during the summer months the traffic is very high especially if you want to return to Thessaloniki on Sunday afternoon.
