A Cultural & Historical Experience in the Heart of Greece

✈️ Day 1 – Arrival in Athens

Welcome to Athens, the historic capital of Greece and one of the oldest cities in the world.

Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and settle in. Depending on the arrival time, enjoy your first impressions of this vibrant Mediterranean city where ancient history meets modern life.

Overnight in Athens.

🏛 Day 2 – Athens • Piraeus • Kalambaka

Athens is often called the cradle of Western civilization.

Our day begins with a visit to the Acropolis, the most important monument of ancient Greece. Dominating the hill is the Parthenon, built in 447 BC as a symbol of the power and glory of classical Athens.

Inside once stood the magnificent gold-and-ivory statue of Athena, the protector goddess of the city. Through the centuries the Parthenon has served as a temple, church, mosque and arsenal, and despite the damage it suffered, it still remains the most iconic landmark of Athens.

After the Acropolis visit we continue to the historic port of Piraeus, one of the largest ports in the Mediterranean.

In the afternoon we depart Athens and travel north toward Kalambaka, located beneath the spectacular Meteora rock formations.

Overnight in Kalambaka.

Day 3 – Meteora Monasteries • Thermopylae • Delphi Area

Today we visit one of the most extraordinary landscapes in Greece — the Meteora Monasteries.

These breathtaking monasteries appear to float in the air, perched high atop towering sandstone cliffs like eagle nests. Built between the 14th and 16th centuries, they served as both spiritual sanctuaries and safe refuges during difficult historical periods.

The first hermits settled here around 1000 AD, seeking solitude and a closer connection to the divine.

To this day, it remains a mystery how the early monks reached the tops of these rock pillars. It is believed they used wooden ladders, ropes, and stakes placed into narrow rock crevices.

Later we stop at the historic battlefield of Thermopylae, where King Leonidas and his 300 Spartans courageously defended Greece against the massive Persian army.

Continue to the Delphi area for overnight.

🔮 Day 4 – Delphi • Osios Loukas Monastery • Corinth Gulf

In ancient times Delphi was believed to be the center of the world.

Pilgrims from across the ancient world traveled here to consult the famous Oracle of Apollo.

We explore the archaeological site including:

  • the Temple of Apollo

  • the Treasuries

  • the ancient theatre

According to legend, the priestess Pythia delivered prophecies while seated on a tripod above a sacred fissure in the earth. The mysterious vapors rising from below placed her in a trance, allowing Apollo’s message to be revealed.

In the afternoon we visit the stunning Monastery of Osios Loukas, one of the most important Byzantine monuments in Greece. Its impressive mosaics are considered masterpieces of Byzantine art.

Arrival and 4-night stay at a hotel by the Corinth Gulf.

🏅 Day 5 – Olympia • Lagadia • Corinth Gulf

Today we visit Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games.

For more than 1,000 years, Olympia served as the most important religious and athletic sanctuary of ancient Greece.

Highlights include:

  • the Temple of Zeus

  • the Ancient Stadium

  • the Sanctuary of the Gods

Inside the temple once stood the 13-meter statue of Zeus, created by the legendary sculptor Phidias, and considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

At the Archaeological Museum of Olympia, we admire the famous statue Hermes by Praxiteles, one of the most beautiful sculptures of classical antiquity.

Return to the Corinth Gulf area.

🏰 Day 6 – Sparta • Mystras

We travel through the picturesque landscapes of Arcadia, one of the most beautiful regions of the Peloponnese.

Passing historic Sparta, we reach the fascinating Byzantine city of Mystras, located on the slopes of the Taygetos Mountains.

Founded in 1249, Mystras quickly became an important center of Byzantine culture, attracting scholars, artists and philosophers.

During our visit we explore:

  • Byzantine churches

  • royal palaces

  • monasteries

  • the famous Lion Gate

  • the impressive Royal Tombs

  • the ancient citadel

Later we continue to Epidaurus, home to the most perfectly preserved ancient theatre in Greece, famous for its extraordinary acoustics.

In antiquity, Epidaurus was also a major healing sanctuary dedicated to the god Asklepios, where visitors sought cures through sacred rituals and healing sleep.

Before returning to the hotel we stop in Nafplio, one of Greece’s most charming seaside towns, known for its picturesque old town and beautiful squares.
